Sometimes I think my view of the world is so radically different from the majority of my fellows that I feel embarrassment and or anger for them when I see what they do...or that I must be crazy.
But now I'm feeling pretty confident that an increasing number of people see Election Day just the way I do.
It's not about candidates, right? It's certainly not about those foolish, dangerous tribal abstractions we call "political parties."
And I am now convinced that an increasing number of us understand that we've been making bad choices for quite some time now.
So far this morning, I've not gotten nearly as much hate mail as I'd thought I'd suffer. In fact, I just read one of the finest, biggest, most sincere and humble apologies I've ever imagined from an intelligent man who realized he'd erred in what he'd said to me last night.
Doggone it that was cool. That apology, along with a bunch of thank yous and positive encouragement from y'all, made up for the stupid, costly and self-destructive stuff I've gone through over the past several months.
So as I take a mid-morning break from work to sift through my emails, and my thoughts on them, I'm reminded to be grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something far bigger than me. And I'm reminded that the foolish, baseless hope that's kept me plugging for liberty for 16 years now, is really not so foolish or baseless.
There is hope.
But I also hope that you'll forgive that I've got to unplug for at least a while, and probably for good. I have no idea how I could possibly afford to do this again; it's almost certain that I'll have no practical choice in the matter. But as long as you see that you've got more choices than you're told by the fancy pants Powers That Be, I'm very happy to have done what I did for as long as I did...and I thank you.
Liberty or Bust!

Well over twice as many Hoosiers voted for me today than ever before. In fact, after years and years of running, if I were to plot this on a graph, it'd look like my vote total just shot up like the national debt. It's hard to be real crabby about that; though I will try.
After all, We The People capitulated once again to the status quo.
I'd be the worst sort of ingrate and short-sighted and selfish lout if I didn't see that the leap in the number of out-of-the-box voters isn't something I should be both grateful and hopeful about.
Thank you, my liberty-loving friends, new and old. Thank you very, very much.
